Everyone knows that Orlando, Florida is the place to be if you are looking for some family fun. In addition to the fantastic theme parks, Orlando has a vibrant community. Here are some upcoming community events to look forward to this summer.
Fireworks at the Fountain
Join the city of Orland and Mayor Buddy Dyer at Lake Eola Park for a fun-filled day to celebrate America’s birthday. The festivities will begin at 4pm on July 4. There will be live music, a beer garden, kids play area and food and beverages available for purchase. The night will end with a spectacular fireworks display.
Listen to some great local bands at the House of Blues on July 14. Tickets cost $5 per person and the doors open at 7pm. There will be performances by Eve to Adam, Maybe If You Hit It, Billy B Sides and Story’s End.
Bastille Day Celebration
If you love all things French, this is the party for you. This French “Independence Day” celebration will include a Moulin Rouge party, Belgium beer, French wine and a French market. Wine and cheese tasting, baguette fencing and live music round out the offerings. It will be held on July 14 from 5-8pm at the Audubon Garden District.
Orlando Burger Battle
If a juicy cheeseburger is your idea of the perfect dinner, you are going to love the Burger Battle. It will be held on August 4 from noon to 6pm at Orlando Festival Park.
Orlando Jazz Festival
This is Central Florida’s premiere Jazz event and will feature a broad mix of classic jazz ensembles plus the latest sounds. It will be held both September 21 and 22 at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Blankets and low-backed chairs are welcome for seating on the lawn. There are a variety of ticket packages available to get the best jazz festival experience.
